MANILA, Philippines — Boys Over Flowers star Kim Hyun Joong visited his Filipino fans, the Henecias, for the last show of his Bio-Rhythm world tour at SM Sky Dome, Quezon City last January 25, 2020.

Aside from starring in Boys Over Flowers, Kim Hyun Joong also starred in Playful Kiss; the Korean adaptation of the hit manga Itazura Na Kiss. On top of his booming career as an actor, his venture into music also proved to be fruitful. In 2005, he became a member of SS501 and debuted with their first mini album, Warning. Eventually, in 2011, he began his solo career as a rockstar.
This concert has been long overdue. The idol last set foot in the Philippines back in 2011, when he promoted his band’s first mini album. After nine years of waiting, Henecias of all ages lined up the concert dome to finally be reunited with their beloved idol.
A “Bark Matic” Show
As expected, this triple threat idol did not disappoint his loyal fans. From the get-go, he already set the tone of the show with a bang (or to be more accurate, a bark). Together with the band Gemini, he officially opened Bio-Rhythm with the song Bark Matic from the SALT EP he released last year. He also performed other songs from the EP such as The Smile in Wine and Life Without You.

To follow up, he sang more hits from his full-length album NEW WAY — fan favorites like the title track New Way, Astraea, Take My Hand didn’t miss the tour’s setlist.

Of course, the night wouldn’t be complete without some fan service. Luckily for his fans, the star was more than happy to oblige with his on point facial expressions (which conducively resulted with Henecias screaming their hearts out), and a few quick trips around the crowd as he sang.
An “Unbreakable” Bond
Kim Hyun Joong was not alone in striving to make the night special, as the Henecias also did everything they could to show him how much they love him. What better way to do that than with heartfelt fan projects?

Before the night even started, camaraderie within the fanbase was ever evident despite hundreds of people queueing outside the sky dome. Fans took it upon themselves to decorate the venue’s entrance with their own standees, tarpaulins, and other paraphernalia. Some even went the extra mile and distributed freebies such as flower crowns, banners, and headbands to their fellow Henecias.
During the concert, Henecias also sang a short song for the singer. The song was in Filipino.

The smile on Kim Hyun Joong’s face when he heard it was enough to let the fans know that their sweet gesture was indeed appreciated.
An “Astraea” to Wait For
Before his last song for the night, the singer bid a nearly tearful farewell to the fans who had stayed by his side for the past decade. He expressed his delight to spend the final stop of his world tour with his Filipino fans. He also promised to come back again soon with “better music”. When the show was over, PH Henecias were all given the chance to say their goodbyes to the Gentleman of the night with a Hi-Touch event.

Up until the end of the concert, Kim Hyun Joong was able to swoon the heart of every PH Henecia who came to see him. Aside from an abundance of fun memories, everyone also came home with some memorabilias of the concert through the giveaway official posters of Bio-Rhythm in Manila.
Concerts, no matter how long or short, are still one of the musts of every fan’s bucket list. The experience of cheering for your idols as they perform your favorite songs is truly irreplaceable. Kim Hyun Joong’s Bio-Rhythm Tour in Manila is no different, for not only the PH Henecias were able to bond with their co-Henecias, but they were also able to bond with their alien prince.
