Roy Chiu talked with China Times about his upcoming drama, MARRY ME OR NOT? (必娶女人). Here are some highlights:

– The main thing that attracted him to the drama at first was the screenplay, because it wasn’t the typical “Prince Charming and Cinderella” idol drama storyline.
– Because Roy plays a lawyer in the drama, he had a lot of difficult lines and would sometimes even record himself saying his lines so he could listen to it over and over and help him remember.
– One particular scene had him talking about environmental protection, and his lines went on for 1.6 pages, all of which had to be done in one shot. It took him four tries to finish that scene.
– MARRY ME OR NOT? is characterized by a lot of exaggeration inspired by theater acting. For half a month before filming, the cast had to do body training. Roy excelled at this, having been a favorite pupil of Lang Zuyun (you’ll probably recognize her as Auntie Feng in OFFICE GIRLS and the fortune teller in MISS ROSE).
– Roy and lead actress Alice Ke’s chemistry from OFFICE GIRLS is still alive and well. On the first day of filming, they filmed an arguing scene, and their tempo and moods matched very well. Alice did not even object when, for a drunk scene, Roy suggested that their characters fall into the water.
